Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies the response under its own systems. Crook County Criminal History does not retain or record those search terms on its servers.
Messages and Contact Submissions
Email and other direct messages may be retained as needed to prepare a response. They remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a binding legal duty.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can cause the servers to receive routine technical information about the visit, including:

Crook County material remains with official custodians such as the Sheriff's Office, Oregon Circuit Court, Oregon State Police CJIS, and the Oregon Sex Offender Registry. This operation is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and information about visitors is not compiled into consumer reports or personal dossiers.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted through a box is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider determines its own retention, use, and disclosure practices, which are beyond this site's control. Review those terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Oregon agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Following one leaves this site, and the destination's privacy policy then controls. Consider that policy before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers use their own systems to observe activity across websites and select interest-based ads. That tracking is performed by the provider.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may nevertheless be received by:

How We Protect Your Data
